How syncing works

What syncs, how often, and what stays in your control.

For operators · 3 min read

Staklio polls your PMS on a schedule and pulls in new and changed data. The default interval is about every 15 minutes and is configurable per connection.

What syncs in

  • Reservations — new, changed and cancelled guest bookings.
  • Units & room types — including the real PMS room type, so balancing and rotation stay within a type.
  • Rates and booking sources — used for owner-stay pushes and reporting buckets.

What syncs out

  • Owner stays booked in Staklio can be pushed into the PMS so your front desk sees them.
  • Room moves from the balancer and the routing engine are written back to the PMS.

What if a sync fails?

It's logged and retried automatically — for example if the PMS is briefly unavailable. Nothing is lost, and the next cycle catches up.

Will Staklio change my PMS data?

Only when you ask it to: applying a balancer swap, routing a new booking (if you enabled auto routing), or pushing an owner stay. Reads never change anything.

How are owner stays recognised?

Bookings whose source matches your configured owner source (e.g. "Owners") are treated as owner stays and excluded from revenue balancing.
