Housekeeping status

Where room cleaning status comes from and where it shows up.

For operators · 2 min read

Staklio reads each room's housekeeping status from your PMS and shows it where it changes a decision — in the balancer, next to the rooms you are choosing between. Sending an arriving guest to a room that has not been cleaned is the kind of mistake that is obvious afterwards and invisible beforehand.

Note: Housekeeping status is part of the balancer's review queue, which is being rolled out. If you do not see status labels next to rooms, your account is on the earlier balancer — ask support.

Where it comes from

Mews only, today. Cloudbeds and StayNTouch properties will show no housekeeping information at all — not an error, simply nothing, and rooms appear without a status label.

The states you will see

  • Clean and inspected — shown plainly, no flag. This is the normal case.
  • Dirty — flagged in amber. The room needs cleaning before anyone goes in.
  • Out of service or out of order — flagged in red. Out of the rotation entirely.
  • Anything else your PMS reports is shown as-is and flagged, on the basis that a state we do not recognise is exactly the one worth looking at.

How current it is

It refreshes with every sync, so under default settings it is at most fifteen to twenty minutes old. A room cleaned since the last sync stops showing as dirty on its own.

Note: This is read-only. Staklio never writes housekeeping status back — your PMS is the record. To change it, change it in Mews and it follows on the next sync.

Why do all my rooms show as clean?

Most likely your property is on Cloudbeds or StayNTouch, where the status is not available. Nothing is broken.

Can I mark a room dirty in Staklio?

No. Do it in your PMS.

Where exactly does it appear?

In the balancer, next to each room in the queue, and on the full room list.
